Bedwetting
As a former first grade teacher teaching post-Covid, I came across many students that had problems with wetting themselves. I wasn’t sure if it was an immature bladder, the inability to listen to their bodies and its cues, or due to nervousness. With over 20 children in the class, and several of them that had the issue, it was important for me to schedule regular bathroom breaks for these children especially.
“Try to listen to your body.”
“I don’t need to go.”
“Ok.”
I wonder if these same children suffered from bedwetting.
Recently I attended a lecture from a well-known and respected doctor of TCM, and when speaking of bedwetting he mentioned part of it may come from nervousness on the part of the child. The bigger deal we make of it, the chance that it will happen more and more often. I felt that was wise.
In our treatment we first use an herbal remedy from the Materia Medica to slow down the bedwetting. We counsel parents and children on tips and tricks to use. We then find the root cause of the bedwetting, and treat from there in order to get to the root of the problem.
